BTS Reigns Supreme: Tops Boy Band Brand Reputation Rankings, with Stray Kids and SEVENTEEN following suit
BTS has claimed the top spot in boy band brand reputation rankings.
On July 8th, the Korea Corporate Reputation Institute announced, "In the big data analysis for boy band brand reputation for July 2023, BTS ranked first, followed by Stray Kids and SEVENTEEN."
This big data was measured from June 8th to July 7th, analyzing a total of 58,490,264 pieces of big data related to boy band brands through consumer behavior analysis. This includes participation index, media index, communication index, and community index of the boy band brands. Compared to the 47,885,944 pieces of big data in June, there was a 22.14% increase.
The brand reputation index is an indicator created through brand big data analysis, which identifies that consumers' online habits greatly influence brand consumption. The analysis of the boy band brand reputation can measure the positive and negative evaluations of boy bands, media attention, and the amount of consumer interest and communication. The brand reputation data participated in by consumers is also included as a weight.
The top 30 boy band brand reputation rankings for July 2023 were as follows: BTS, Stray Kids, SEVENTEEN, SHINee, NCT, MONSTA X, EXO, Super Junior, BTOB, WINNER, ASTRO, BIGBANG, ONF, ENHYPEN, ATEEZ, THE BOYZ, TREASURE, TEEN TOP, 2PM, HIGHLIGHT, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, WANNA ONE, VIXX, TVXQ, PENTAGON, INFINITE, SHINHWA, FT ISLAND, BLOCK B, SF9.
BTS (RM, Suga, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook) recorded a participation index of 375,723, a media index of 2,906,826, a communication index of 3,398,167, and a community index of 3,824,531. This resulted in a brand reputation index of 10,505,246, a 5.72% increase compared to the brand reputation index of 9,936,435 in June.
Stray Kids (Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, I.N) recorded a participation index of 247,970, a media index of 1,268,953, a communication index of 1,558,547, and a community index of 1,510,597. This resulted in a brand reputation index of 4,586,068, a 120.60% increase compared to the brand reputation index of 2,078,915 in June.
SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) recorded a participation index of 354,762, a media index of 1,775,588, a communication index of 920,046, and a community index of 1,440,554. This resulted in a brand reputation index of 4,490,949, a 2.54% increase compared to the brand reputation index of 4,379,894 in June.
For the other groups in the top five, SHINee ranked fourth with a brand reputation index of 3,085,166, a 52.93% increase compared to June, and NCT ranked fifth with a brand reputation index of 2,608,273, a 9.74% increase compared to June.
The director of the Korea Corporate Reputation Institute, Koo Chang-hwan, said, "In the big data analysis for the boy band brand reputation for July 2023, BTS recorded first place. The boy band brand category increased by 22.14% compared to the 47,885,944 pieces of boy band brand big data in June. When looking at the detailed analysis, brand consumption decreased by 2.10%, brand issues increased by 17.88%, brand communication increased by 30.79%, and brand spread increased by 24.59%."
He continued, "High analysis for BTS included 'release, announcement, impressed.' In keyword analysis, 'Take Two, J-Hope, Jungkook' were highly analyzed. In the analysis of positive and negative ratios, the positive ratio was analyzed at 85.11%. Looking at the detailed analysis of the BTS brand reputation, brand consumption increased by 7.82%, brand issues increased by 17.31%, brand communication increased by 3.63%, and brand spread decreased by 0.17%."
