BTS Jimin Shines as a Global Pop Icon of the 21st Century: A Reign Across Worldwide Music Charts
BTS's Jimin continues to soar in popularity, illuminating his global appeal as he dominates music charts across the world.
Jimin's contribution to the Hollywood blockbuster "Fast & Furious: Ride or Die" theme song "Angel Pt.1" made a promising debut at number 3 on the UK Official Singles Download Chart. Moreover, its newer version "Angel Pt.2" made its debut at position 59 on the most recent chart.
Jimin has previously topped this chart with "Set Me Free Pt.2", a pre-released song from his solo album "FACE", and with the title track "Like Crazy". These achievements marked him as the first Korean solo artist to have two #1 songs, and the first Asian solo artist to hold the top position for three consecutive weeks.
Furthermore, "Angel Pt.2" made it to the 62nd position on the Official Singles Sales Chart this week. This means Jimin has now charted a total of 11 songs from the "FACE" album on both the Singles Sales and Singles Download Charts, setting a new record for Korean solo artists.
In the Billboard Canada Hot 100, "Angel Pt.1" has re-entered the charts at position 95 as of July 1st, marking its third consecutive week on the chart. With this achievement, Jimin has become the only Korean solo artist this year to have a total of four songs chart nine times.
On Billboard Vietnam, "Angel Pt.1" has risen 12 spots from last week to reach number 2, setting a new peak and continuing its 6-week chart run. Meanwhile, "Like Crazy" has held steady in the top 10 for the 12th consecutive week, breaking the record for the longest-running Korean solo artist.
In India, where Jimin is the only Korean solo artist to have five songs enter the Top 10 on the 'IMI International Top 20', "Angel Pt.1" continues its successful 6-week chart run at position 15. At the same time, "Like Crazy" has climbed two spots to rank 17th for the 12th consecutive week.
In Malaysia's RIM Chart (Top 20 Most Streamed International Singles), "Angel Pt.1" hit a new peak at position 13 this week, marking its third consecutive week on the chart. On New Zealand's Hot Singles Top 40 Chart, "Angel Pt.2" debuted at number 23, making it the eighth song of Jimin's to make the chart.
In addition, Jimin's solo album "FACE" has exhibited its strength by staying on Greece's Official IFPI Album Chart for a record-breaking six weeks, the longest for an Asian solo artist, currently at position 53. Furthermore, it has remained on France's SNEP Physical Album Chart for a staggering 14 weeks, currently at position 152.
Having debuted at number 2, the highest position for a Korean solo artist on Hungary's Top 40 Album Chart, "FACE" has now climbed two spots to position 13. This reflects Jimin's formidable power, boasting the longest run on the chart for an Asian solo artist with 12 weeks.
Indeed, since the beginning of his solo activities, Jimin has swept music charts across the globe, solidifying his status as a pop icon of the 21st century.
