TEEN TOP Breaks Three-Year Hiatus With New Album '4SHO', Set to Rekindle K-Pop Scene Today
K-pop boy band TEEN TOP (comprised of members Chunji, Niel, Ricky, Changjo) is making a full-group comeback today.
TEEN TOP is set to unveil their new album 'TEEN TOP [4SHO]' at 6 PM KST across various music platforms today, marking the end of their three-year hiatus and the beginning of their new promotions.
The album 'TEEN TOP [4SHO]' holds significant importance for the band. It signals their return to fans after a long hiatus and is also the first album they are releasing as a quartet.
The new album includes a total of five tracks: the title track 'HWEEK,' an easy-listening fan song 'NEXT YOU,' a re-recorded song 'Missing You 2023,' which was selected by fan voting, a 'sped up' version of 'HWEEK,' and an instrumental track.
The title track 'HWEEK' is a fun song led by funky brass elements. The song captures attention for having hit lyricist Seo Ji-eum and producer Josef Melin, known for his work with SHINee and Super Junior, on its creation team. The easy-to-follow hook of the title track induces an inner dance, providing a pleasant energy throughout.
The lyrics, emphasizing rest in the midst of a busy daily life, complete the 'TEEN TOP-style vacation song' that will represent the summer of 2023.
The music video is also a highlight. The video for 'HWEEK' was filmed in a virtual studio boasting the country's largest LED wall. It employs a technique of projecting a real-time rendered 3D space onto the LED wall, simultaneously filming the artist and the background. Through this technology, TEEN TOP paid homage to and reinterpreted major set images from their previous music videos, creating a fresh and innovative work of art.
TEEN TOP is making a comeback to the K-pop scene nearly three years after releasing their special album 'To You 2020'. The group, known for its popular and distinctive music, has received love and support over a long period. The members have been active in dramas, musicals, and solo album releases throughout their 14-year career, demonstrating their ongoing relevance in the industry.
The band, which has birthed numerous mega-hits including 'Rocking,' 'Miss Right,' 'Crazy,' and 'To You,' has proven their position as K-pop's leading figures.
Meanwhile, TEEN TOP will hold a comeback showcase for 'TEEN TOP [4SHO]' today, where they will meet with fans.
