TWICE Continues Making History: Anticipation Builds for 'MiSaMo' Unit and Jihyo's Solo Debut
The K-pop girl group TWICE, known for consistently setting 'K-pop girl group firsts', is poised for a series of releases with a unit debut and a solo debut.
The unit 'MiSaMo', composed of Japanese members Mina, Sana, and Momo of TWICE, will release their first mini-album on July 26th, followed by a solo debut from TWICE's leader, Jihyo, on August 18th.
'MiSaMo', the first unit group presented by TWICE eight years after their debut, has been named by combining the first letters of each member's name. Their debut mini-album 'Masterpiece', set to be released on the 26th of next month, aims to highlight the unique colors and charms of the members that haven't been fully showcased in the group's previous works.
Their debut album will include a total of seven songs, including the title track 'Do Not Touch', 'Behind the Curtain', 'Marshmallow', 'Funny Valentine', 'It's Not Easy for You', 'Rewind You', and 'Bouquet'. Notably, Park Jin-young, the head of their agency JYP Entertainment, participated in writing the lyrics for the title track, sparking anticipation for a song that will amplify the members' charm.
MiSaMo will also hold the release showcase for their mini-album in Japan at INTEX Osaka Exhibition Hall 5 on July 22-23 and at Pia Arena MM in Tokyo from July 25-27. The fans' support for MiSaMo's new endeavor is growing louder.
Following MiSaMo, Jihyo, TWICE's leader and main vocalist, is set for her solo debut on August 18th. Following in the footsteps of Nayeon, who captured the public's heart with her refreshing charm as the first solo debut from the group last June, Jihyo will be the second member to debut as a solo artist.
Jihyo plans to reveal her hidden charm and varied styles through her first mini-album 'John'.
Jihyo, who has proven her skills with solid vocals and dance in TWICE, is expected to delight the audience's ears with a different voice as a solo artist. The anticipation is high.
TWICE, the group that includes MiSaMo and Jihyo, continues to set records as the 'First and Best K-pop Girl Group', receiving love from around the world.
Currently, TWICE is successfully meeting with fans both domestically and internationally through their fifth world tour. The tour includes a total of 23 individual concerts in 14 cities, including Osaka, Tokyo, Sydney, Melbourne, Los Angeles, Oakland, Seattle, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Toronto, New York, and Atlanta. In September, they will also host the world tour in Singapore, London, Paris, Berlin, Bangkok, and Bulacan.
In particular, TWICE is setting more K-pop girl group firsts this year, including holding concerts in Japanese stadiums, selling out concerts at the SoFi Stadium and MetLife Stadium in Los Angeles, surpassing one million album sales in the United States, and winning the Billboard Women in Music award.
As TWICE continues to make history in the K-pop girl group scene through their group activities, it will be interesting to see if they can captivate the public with their unit and solo activities as well.
