NewJeans, NMIXX, ITZY, and Jihyo are Set to Heat Up This Summer as 'Summer Queens'
This summer is going to be hotter than ever with the thrilling 'Summer Queen' competition.
This summer, the pop music scene is expected to heat up with the comeback rush of the Summer Queens. With the strong performance of girl groups on the music charts continuing for several months, NewJeans, NMIXX, ITZY, and TWICE's Jihyo are gearing up to join the fray and set the summer ablaze. Their robust summer music is anticipated to delight listeners even more.
#NewJeans, The Confident Summer Queen
First up are the popular NewJeans. NuJinS announced a pre-release track from their upcoming album on July 7th, and they are planning to make a comeback with their second mini-album 'Get Up' on July 21st. The anticipation is high for NewJeans's summer comeback, as their debut album released last August created a sensation.
In this album, NewJeans has highlighted three title tracks: 'Super Shy,' 'ETA,' and 'Cool With You,' showing their confidence in their music. They will launch their comeback warm-up by pre-releasing 'Super Shy' and 'New Jeans,' one of their title tracks, on July 7th. Ahead of their comeback, NewJeans has amped up the excitement by unveiling their newly blond visuals and teasing diverse content. Given their track record of making all their released songs hits, NewJeans is expected to be the surefire Summer Queens of this year.
#NMIXX, Cementing their Status as Summer Queen
The next contender is NMIXX, a group that will make a comeback with their third single 'A Midsummer NMIXX's Dream' on July 11th. For the first time since their debut, NMIXX is eyeing the position of Summer Queens with a summer comeback. Especially since they ascended to the mainstream with 'Love Me Like This,' released last March, their first summer comeback is expected to solidify their status.
NMIXX, a team succeeding JYP Entertainment's girl group lineage, is famous as an 'all-rounder' team, boasting both strong dance and vocal abilities. Through this summer comeback, they are expected to showcase not only their unique and energetic music but also their talents. Their comeback title track 'Party O'Clock,' written and composed by Park Jin-young, is anticipated more than ever.
#ITZY, The Epitome of Summer Queen
The epitome of 'Summer Queens,' ITZY, is also entering the fray. ITZY will make a comeback with their new album 'Kill My Doubt' on July 31st. This album marks their first comeback of 2023. Given that they are returning in the summer, which represents ITZY, after about seven months, their comeback is gathering more anticipation. ITZY has risen to the position of Summer Queens by turning 'ICY,' 'Not Shy,' and 'Sneakers' into summer hits over the years.
In addition to being the epitome of Summer Queens, expectations are higher for this album as Black Eyed Pilseung, who worked on TWICE's 'Like OOH-AHH,' 'CHEER UP,' 'TT,' and 'LIKEY,' participated. Their title track 'Cake' is expected to complete the formula 'ITZY = Summer.'
#TWICE's Jihyo, The Trustworthy Summer Queen
In August, TWICE member Jihyo will meet fans with her solo debut. Jihyo will make her solo debut with her first mini album 'ZONE' on August 18th. Following Nayeon, who seized the summer pop music scene with her solo album last June, this year, Jihyo is expected to prove herself as a 'Trustworthy Summer Queen.'
Jihyo's solo debut track is 'Killin' Me Good,' and through this album, her presence as a solo artist is expected to be reaffirmed. Jihyo has led TWICE's activities with her solid talents, thus anticipation is high for her to become the 'Summer Queen' who will adorn the finale of this summer.
