The Boyz, ATEEZ, and More: 'K Global Heart Dream Awards' Reveals Star-studded First Lineup
Leading 4th generation boy groups are slated to appear in the '2023 K Global Heart Dream Awards', an event hoping for the successful bid of the '2030 Busan World Expo (Busan Expo)'.
On June 26, the organizing committee of the '2023 K Global Heart Dream Awards' announced the first lineup which includes groups like The Boyz, ATEEZ, and Treasure (T5).
The Boyz is a 'senior 4th gen' group that debuted in 2017 under IST Entertainment. Embodying their name meaning 'boys', they are loved domestically and internationally for their fresh and energetic concepts. Last year, they exuded their presence in the global market through their first world tour 'The B Icon'.
Their previous album, the eighth mini-album 'BE AWAKE' released last February, enabled The Boyz to enter the top ranks of domestic charts such as Melon and top the iTunes charts in 11 countries including Singapore, Finland, Indonesia, and Thailand.
ATEEZ, who debuted in 2018 under KQ Entertainment, is a representative 4th generation boy group that has built their reputation in the global market based on their powerful performance skills.
With their mini 8th album 'THE WORLD EP.1: MOVEMENT' released last July and their mini 9th album 'THE WORLD EP.2: OUTLOW' released on the 16th, they have consistently been popular, achieving the status of million-sellers.
Treasure is a multinational boy group under YG Entertainment that debuted in 2020. Over the past seven months, they have garnered attention by gathering a total of 420,000 spectators through their debut Asian tour covering 17 cities and 40 performances. In Japan, they are gaining explosive popularity, even setting a new record for 'the largest audience for a first tour by a Korean artist'.
With their second act being foretold by chief producer Yang Hyun-suk and others, they are set to debut a new unit named T5, consisting of five members (So Jung-hwan, Junkyu, Jihoon, Yoon Jaehyuk, and Doyoung), in July. In addition, they will meet global fans in August by releasing their second full album 'REBOOT'.
With the news of the participation of leading 4th generation boy groups, the '2023 K Global Heart Dream Awards' is heating up and will be held on August 10th at the KSPO DOME (formerly Olympic Gymnastics Arena) located in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
This award ceremony, one of the biggest K-pop festivals planned in support of the 2030 Busan Expo bid, will feature key figures and celebrities from K-pop, who are leading the Hallyu culture in the global market, and deliver messages hoping for the Expo bid.
