Actress Park Gyu-young Takes Center Stage as the Leading Lady in 'Squid Game' Season 2
Actress Park Gyu-young will step into the spotlight as the lead female character in 'Squid Game' Season 2.
According to an exclusive report by Star News on the 23rd, Park Gyu-young was recently confirmed to have been cast in Netflix's original series 'Squid Game' Season 2.
Park Gyu-young is the only female actor announced so far for 'Squid Game' Season 2. Previously, Netflix announced that Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo, who appeared in Season 1, would be joined by new participants Lim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-geun in Season 2 of 'Squid Game'.
The total production cost for 'Squid Game' Season 2 is reported to be over 100 billion won. After completing the casting process, the first filming will start this summer, aiming for a release in 2024.
'Squid Game' is a Netflix series that tells the story of individuals who risk their lives in extreme games to become the ultimate winner of a mysterious survival game with a prize money of 45.6 billion won. The series was directed and scripted by Hwang Dong-hyuk.
Season 1, which was released in September 2021, featured Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, Oh Young-soo, Wi Ha-jun, Jung Ho-yeon, Heo Sung-tae, Kim Joo-ryoung, Gong Yoo, Lee Byung-hun, and others. In about a month, it was viewed by 111 million households worldwide, making 'Squid Game' the most-watched Netflix original series of all time.
Park Gyu-young is set to appear in Netflix's 'Celebrity,' which will be released on the 30th.
