K-pop Star Jo Yuri Set to Make Her Global Acting Debut in 'Squid Game' Season 2
Singer Jo Yuri is about to take her first leap as a global actress.
According to a report by Sport TV News on the 23rd, Jo Yuri has been cast in Netflix's original series, "Squid Game" Season 2.
"Squid Game" is a series that tells the story of individuals who risk their lives in extreme games to become the ultimate winner of a mysterious survival game with a prize money of 45.6 billion won. Since the release of its first season in 2021, it has captivated audiences worldwide.
Jo Yuri will join the even more intense narrative of "Squid Game" Season 2, following Season 1.
Joining the popular lead actors from Season 1, Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Jun, Gong Yoo, and already announced for Season 2, Lim Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, among others, Jo Yuri is expected to showcase a powerful transformation, increasing the anticipation.
Jo Yuri, who made her acting debut last year through the web drama "Mimicrus," received recognition for her impressive acting skills with a special appearance in the Tving original series "Drunk City Women Season 2." Being cast in a major production like "Squid Game" Season 2, almost akin to a serious drama debut, has amplified expectations for Jo Yuri's leap as an actress in global content.
"Squid Game" Season 2 will start filming in the second half of this year.
