CRAVITY Excites Fans With August Comeback Date
CRAVITY is gearing up for their comeback!
The idol group under Starship Entertainment confirms their comeback with 'Season 2-Hideout: The New Day We Step Into' this coming August 24.
CRAVITY is a nine-membered band that debuted in the K-pop scene through their first mini-album 'Season 1 – Hideout: Remember Who We Are' in April with the title track 'Break All the Rules.' They continued to do follow-up promotional activities for the b-side of the album 'Cloud 9' since June this year.
CRAVITY's PRE-DEBUT
In 2019, Jungmo, Wonjin, Minhee, and Hyeongjun participated in the Produce X 101 show representing Starship Entertainment alongside Moon Hyunbin, before the band 's premiere. During the finals, Jungmo and Wonjin collectively put positions 13 and 19 (without bearing into account the 'X'-position), lacking the cut-off for the inaugural roster of the program.
Nonetheless, Minhee and Hyeongjun separately put ranks 10 and 4, allowing them to be part of the premiere line-up and part of team X1. They campaigned with the group until their disbandment on January 6, 2020.
CRAVITY's DEBUT
CRAVITY officially launched Season 1 with extended play 'Hideout: Remember Who We Are' that hit the scene and hit a peak above Gaon's Album Chart on April 14, 2020. It is estimated that the album distributed over 100,000 copies in the April 2020 month, rendering them the best-selling South Korean junior band in 2020.
In turn, CRAVITY had reached and debuted at number 12 on the Billboard Social 50 List. They are South Korea's fifth quickest band to reach Social 50 and is also the only South Korean startup act to be charting on Billboard's Social 50.
CRAVITY'S FANDOM NAME
In May of this year, when CRAVITY's managing label Starship Entertainment conducted a fan poll to finalize the band's fandom name.
The fans were given four choices: LUVITY, Week, Lumini, and CRAVITY. On that same day, Starship Entertainment and CRAVITY were able to reach a fandom name, winning the poll is LUVITY!
CRAVITY shared the meaning behind the name, describing it, "People who love CRAVITY."
