━ ◆ Message from the three EXO members ━
Hello, this is SM Entertainment. Below is a joint statement from our company and our affiliated artists Byun Baek-hyun, Kim Jong-dae, and Kim Min-seok (collectively referred to as the three artists).
Recently, our company and the three artists were involved in a public dispute from our differing perspectives. We sincerely apologize to the many EXO fans who have been concerned about this situation.
Following this, our company and the three artists have had plenty of time to discuss all the issues honestly and earnestly. Through these discussions, we were able to resolve disagreements caused by misunderstandings and reach a mutually satisfactory agreement, which we are happy to share. The consolidated positions are as follows:
First, our company and the three artists have recognized and maintained the artist contract relationship, and have agreed to carry out EXO activities more actively and continuously through some consultation and revision processes.
Our company has listened to and understood the thoughts of all three artists and detailed our position as well. The three artists also opened their hearts and understood our company's position regarding the artist contract. As a result, our company and the three artists have promised to strengthen our relationship through a process of mutual negotiation and revision. Furthermore, our company has agreed to support and back the three artists in their ability to develop their individuality and conduct activities in new ways.
Second, we would like to mention that there was a misunderstanding regarding the involvement of a third external force.
Originally, our company received a report that a third external force was approaching the three artists with unfair suggestions, and we mentioned this as the main cause of this disturbance. However, through this discussion, we have realized that there was a misunderstanding about the involvement of a third external force. We would like to take this opportunity to apologize to those who were concerned by our statement.
Our company and the three artists would like to apologize to fans, EXO members excluding the three artists, and those who have been waiting for EXO. We will do our best to repay the support from many people.
Lastly, through this incident, we have been able to reconsider individual concerns of our artists as well as the direction of our company's growth in line with the launch of SM 3.0. Powered by the support of fans, we aim to envision the future of a more grown and mature SM 3.0. We will further strengthen and reinforce mutual cooperation and respect with our artists under the new motto of the changing and developing SM 3.0.
Thank you.
