V, a renowned member of the world-famous K-pop group BTS, has witnessed his dedicated Chinese fans amass more than $138,000 in a mere 54 minutes for his speculated solo album, despite no official release details from the star or his label.

The 27-year-old South Korean singer, legally known as Kim Taehyung, has elicited intense anticipation among fans for his impending solo project, tentatively dubbed "VOLO" or "V SOLO" by his supporters.

The announcement came from Baidu V Bar, V's primary fan group in China, stating that it had rapidly garnered 100 million KRW ($78,000) within the first five minutes of their fundraising initiative, eventually collecting a total of 177 million KRW ($138,000) in less than an hour, Star News Korea reports.

It's worth noting that the potential album "VOLO" has already made waves on the popular Chinese social media platform, Weibo, featuring as a "hot trend" and accruing more than 380,000 mentions.

Despite BTS' official inactivity in China, the fan club for V has accumulated an impressive 1.82 million followers.

Notably, this isn't the first demonstration of V's Chinese fans' financial fervor for his projects. Last year, during the launch of BTS' "Proof", fans purchased over 170,000 copies of the anthology album, undeterred by Beijing's ongoing restrictions on K-culture, the South China Morning Post reported.

Furthermore, a Chinese fan page dedicated to V reported an expenditure of 4.5 billion KRW ($3.49 million) on the album's release day to procure copies of "Proof."

As reported by Star News Korea, the same fandom made a record-breaking group purchase in 2020, buying 230,000 copies of BTS' "Map of the Soul: 7" for a whopping 5.2 billion KRW ($4.1 million).

In December 2022, Baidu V Bar organized a grand exhibition in Seoul to commemorate V's birthday, christened as "TaeTae Land," where fans could explore various installations related to the BTS member.

Known as the "Prince of the Continent," V has validated his fame in China and Japan by frequently topping celebrity rankings, including the Aiman list that assesses celebrities' commercial value, where he was ranked first in December 2020.

As of now, there has been no official announcement regarding the release of V's solo album from BigHit, BTS' label. However, V has hinted at a fan event that his upcoming work will be significantly influenced by his touring experiences and the changing seasons, particularly winter.

V and Jungkook remain the only BTS members yet to release their solo albums, following the solo ventures of fellow members J-Hope, Jin, RM, Jimin, and Suga.
