TWICE's First Subunit MISAMO Debuts in Japan with Pre-release Track 'Marshmallow'
TWICE's inaugural subunit MISAMO, comprised of Mina, Sana, and Momo, has pre-released 'Marshmallow', a track from their upcoming Japanese album, demonstrating the delightful synergy of their unique individual styles.
JYP Entertainment is launching 'MISAMO', TWICE's first-ever unit group featuring Mina, Sana, and Momo. Ahead of their official debut with their first mini-album 'Masterpiece' set to release on July 26th, MISAMO created a buzz with the early release of the track 'Marshmallow' and its music video at midnight on June 16th.
The new song 'Marshmallow' is a charming tune with hip-hop elements over a sweet melody, showcasing the appealing vocal colors of MISAMO. The lyrics, instilling a message of self-love and embracing individuality, bring a wave of positive energy to fans. The music video captivates viewers as Mina, Sana, and Momo transform into a part-timer, an influencer, and a dancer-intern, respectively, turning mundane daily life into a sparkling adventure.
The mini-album's jacket image, revealed on the official Japanese SNS channel on June 14th, unveiled a different, cute and lovable charm contrasting their elegant, painting-like beauty, raising anticipation for the diverse music and visuals of the new album. MISAMO's debut Japanese album includes a total of seven tracks, including the title song 'Do not touch', 'Behind The Curtain', 'Marshmallow', 'Funny Valentine', 'It's not easy for you', 'Rewind you', and 'Bouquet'. The title track 'Do not touch' was penned by renowned K-pop producer Park Jin Young, while the trio participated in writing the lyrics for the 4th track 'Funny Valentine', 5th track 'It's not easy for you', and the 6th track 'Rewind you', imbuing their unique sentiments into the songs.
MISAMO will commemorate their much-anticipated TWICE unit debut with fans by holding the 'MISAMO JAPAN SHOWCASE 2023' on July 22nd-23rd at the Osaka Intex Osaka Exhibition Hall and from July 25th-27th at the Tokyo Pia Arena MM. After setting a record for the 'first K-pop girl group' to perform at a Japanese stadium as TWICE in Osaka Yanma Stadium Nagai and Tokyo Ajinomoto Stadium during their fifth world tour 'TWICE 5TH WORLD TOUR 'READY TO BE'', the girls are expected to further boost their local popularity with their debut unit activities.
Meanwhile, TWICE is currently on a world tour, expanding their scale to an unprecedented 36 performances across 22 regions worldwide. They opened the door to their North American tour on June 10th (local time) with a performance in Los Angeles, making them the first female group to perform and sell out at the SoFi Stadium. They created unforgettable memories with an audience of around 50,000 fans. After continuing their performance in Oakland, Seattle, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Toronto in Canada, New York, Atlanta, Singapore in September, London in the UK, Paris in France, Berlin in Germany, Bangkok in Thailand, and Bulacan in the Philippines, they will conclude their tour with four dome concerts in Nagoya and Fukuoka, Japan, in December.
