NCT Taeyong's First Solo Album Surpasses 500K Pre-Orders, Tops iTunes Charts in 30 Regions
NCT member Taeyong (under SM Entertainment) has proven his superstar power, sweeping global charts with his solo debut.
Taeyong's first mini-album 'SHALALA,' released on June 5th, reached number 1 on the iTunes Top Album Chart in 30 regions worldwide including Brazil, Mexico, Chile, France, India, Spain, Poland, Russia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Colombia, Finland, Hungary, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Singapore, Mongolia, Peru, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, Vietnam, Brunei, Portugal, Panama, and the Philippines.
Moreover, the album also claimed the top spot on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart, and it drew attention by taking first place on the digital album sales chart of China's largest music site, QQ Music.
The title track 'SHALALA' also confirmed the hot interest of global fans towards Taeyong by capturing the number one spot on the iTunes Top Songs Chart in 14 regions worldwide including Chile, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Malaysia, Panama, Peru, Poland, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Vietnam, Belarus, and Mongolia.
With his first mini-album 'SHALALA,' Taeyong broke through 500,000 pre-orders (as of June 4), heralding a half-million seller even for his first solo album. Therefore, all eyes are on Taeyong for the achievements he will show in the future.
On the 5th, Taeyong held a showcase at SJ Kunsthalle in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, where he first unveiled the stages of the songs in his first solo album and told various stories about the album production process. He expressed his feelings, saying, "I hope you all gain energy and comfort from my album. I will present good activities as a solo artist, and every moment with you all will be 'SHALALA.'"
