BOYNEXTDOOR Smashes Debut Records This Year with Highest Initial Album Sales
HIVE's new boy group BOYNEXTDOOR has marked the arrival of a "record-breaking rookie" by setting the record for the most initial sales (album sales in the first week after release) for a debut team this year.
According to the album sales aggregation site, Hanteo Chart, the first single 'WHO!' by BOYNEXTDOOR (Sung-Ho, Liou, Myung-Jae-Hyun, Tae-San, Lee-Han, Woon-Hak) which was released on the 30th of last month, sold a total of 114,420 copies in the first week (counting period from May 30 to June 5).
This is the best performance among all the rookies who debuted in 2023, placing BOYNEXTDOOR at the 5th place for initial sales of debut albums by K-pop boy groups in history.
BOYNEXTDOOR launched with a triple title track in their debut single, and their three entertaining music videos have been hugely popular. As of 10 AM today (6th), the music video for 'One and Only' has surpassed 19 million views on YouTube, while 'I'll Go Crazy,' and 'Serenade' have also recorded more than 10 million and 7.7 million views, respectively. All three videos made it to the weekly 'Top 100' popular music videos on YouTube.
Entering the second week since their debut, BOYNEXTDOOR is creating a fresh buzz in the K-pop scene with their fun performances on every stage. Whether they're showcasing the charm of youthful rookies with refreshing and hip gestures, or providing a captivating spectacle with their ad-lib performances full of witty ideas, they're a sight not to be missed. Following their music show appearances, 'BOYNEXTDOOR' rose to the top of the real-time popular search terms on the music site Melon, confirming the growing public interest.
