Dior Beauty has been caught in the crossfire of the fan outrage stemming from a recent Instagram post for the #MissDior Exhibition, with BLINKs, BLACKPINK's fans, upset about the portrayal of Jisoo.

A Controversial Instagram Post

On May 28, Dior Beauty unveiled a new Instagram post to celebrate the #MissDior Exhibition in Korea. The post showcased a line-up of South Korean celebrities, including figure skater Kim Yuna, BLACKPINK's Jisoo, 2PM's Junho, NewJeans' Haerin, and actor Jung Hae In, all representing the brand at the event.

However, controversy ensued when fans of BLACKPINK noticed that Jisoo, the global ambassador for both Dior Fashion and Dior Beauty, was featured on the second slide of the post, rather than the first.

 

The Debate Over the Instagram Post

Fans of BLACKPINK expressed their dissatisfaction in the comment section, questioning Dior Beauty's decision:

"Why is your global ambassador on the second slide? We should see her first, right?"

"Do you usually place your global ambassador's photo behind someone else's?"

"Is the 'Global Ambassador,' who's bringing the revenue, in the second slide not embarrassing for you?"

Fan outrage over the order of the post caught the attention of numerous news outlets and online communities.

In online forums, fans of Kim Yuna defended the figure skater's prominent position in the post, given her national reputation. Others expressed surprise over the controversy reaching news outlets.

"Are they really targeting Kim Yuna?"

"The funniest part is these fans are unhappy that their world star is a brand ambassador, and they also claim that her individuality vanishes with that brand."
