DRIPPIN Earns Spot on GRAMMY's 'Boy Groups to Watch in 2023'
DRIPPIN, the rising K-pop boy group, has been selected as one of the must-watch boy groups of this year.
On the 24th, DRIPPIN confirmed their burgeoning global popularity by being included in the '11 K-Pop Boy Groups To Watch In 2023' list, announced by the American GRAMMYs.
The GRAMMYs introduced DRIPPIN, stating, "DRIPPIN is a group that demonstrates how to craft a successful career without losing their shine. They boast one of the most solid repertoires among the fourth-generation K-pop idols."
The GRAMMYs also commended, "When DRIPPIN debuted with their first mini-album 'Boyager' in 2020, their musical compass signified brightness and over time, it has steered towards a darker path. Their fantastical 'Villain' series, which they journeyed through in 2022, stands as a testament to this, symbolizing an organic and smooth transformation."
The 'Villain' series mentioned by the GRAMMYs refers to the 'Villain'z Era' universe completed by DRIPPIN's three albums: the third mini-album 'Villain', the second single 'Villain: ZERO', and the first full album 'Villain: The End.'
Transforming into dark heroes with various superpowers such as fire, lightning, light manipulation, super strength, and time-space control through the 'Villain'z Era' universe, DRIPPIN has captivated fans worldwide with a unique concept and impressive performances not seen before in the K-pop scene, solidifying their position as a 'global trending group.'
In addition, they achieved another dramatic transformation last month with their third single 'SEVEN SINS,' which takes the concept of 'Seven Deadly Sins,' known to bring about human corruption.
Through this selection by the GRAMMYs, DRIPPIN has once again felt their irreplaceable popularity as a representative of the fourth-generation idols, recognizing their distinctive concept and endless potential.
DRIPPIN celebrated the release of their new single 'SEVEN SINS' on the 17th by releasing a short movie 'DRIPPIN SPECIAL MOVIE: EDEN' through CGV. They are set to hold two stage greetings at CGV Yeonnam on the 29th.
