BTS Jin's 'The Astronaut' Soars to Number One on Spotify's UAE Weekly Chart: A Spectacular Comeback
BTS's Jin has taken over the top spot on Spotify's United Arab Emirates (UAE) weekly chart with his single, 'The Astronaut,' showcasing a spectacular comeback and continuing popularity.
Jin's debut solo single 'The Astronaut' hit number one on Spotify's 'Weekly Top Songs UAE' chart (May 12th-18th) as of May 18th. After debuting at number 14 on the same chart last year, 'The Astronaut' has maintained steady popularity. On May 4th, it re-entered the weekly chart at number 15, swiftly climbing to the top spot within just three weeks, demonstrating a powerful comeback.
'The Astronaut' has also held a position in the upper ranks of the 'Weekly Top Songs' chart in South Korea and Hong Kong for 29 consecutive weeks.
After claiming the number one spot for five consecutive days on the 'Daily Top Songs UAE' chart, 'The Astronaut' continued its streak by maintaining the second spot for four consecutive days as of May 22nd. Upon its release on October 28th last year, the song entered the chart at number six, reflecting Jin's consistent popularity. After re-entering at number 61 on April 27th, 'The Astronaut' has shown a steep rise, settling into the 'Top 2' for 13 consecutive days, highlighting soloist Jin's power.
In the 'Daily Top Songs Saudi Arabia' chart, 'The Astronaut' re-entered at number 8 and has climbed to the third position as of May 22nd, exhibiting impressive comeback strength. On the Hong Kong chart, it ranked 58th, marking 202 days on the chart, while on the Korean chart, it ranked 95th, charting for 207 consecutive days, further solidifying Jin's formidable global popularity.
As of May 18, Jin has jumped a whopping 55 steps to rank 60th on the 'Weekly Top Artists UAE' chart, achieving the highest ranking among K-pop solo artists for the week.
As of May 23, 'The Astronaut,' which has garnered over 171.52 million streams on Spotify, broke records by reaching 10 million streams in just three days, 50 million in 22 days, and 100 million in 72 days, setting the fastest record for a Korean male K-pop solo song.
On the day of the song's release, Jin made his debut on Spotify's 'Global Top Artist' and 'Japan Top Artist' charts, achieving the highest debut ranking among Korean solo artists to date.
Presented as a gift to fans before his military enlistment last year, 'The Astronaut' has achieved dazzling records on charts across various countries, filling Jin's military hiatus with continued proof of his solid standing as a 'global superstar.'
