IVE Conquers Music Charts with 'I AM' and 'Kitsch' Despite Hiatus, Displaying Lasting Popularity
Group IVE (Ahn Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, Leeseo) has continued to dominate the music charts even after the official end of their activities.
IVE has secured the number one spot on the third week of May (May 15th-21st, 2023) weekly chart for Melon and Genie, major domestic music sites, with 'I AM', the title track of their first full-length album 'IVE IVE'.
With this, IVE has maintained their first place on the Melon and Genie weekly charts for eight consecutive weeks since the pre-release of the double title track 'Kitsch' in the fourth week of March (March 27th - April 2nd, 2023).
Following the success of 'I AM', 'Kitsch' continues to show its enduring popularity by ranking within the top five of the weekly charts. Meanwhile, the previously released single title tracks 'ELEVEN', 'LOVE DIVE', and 'After LIKE' also solidified their positions on the charts, demonstrating IVE's formidable power in the music scene.
Additionally, IVE has shown active performance on overseas charts with 'I AM' and 'Kitsch'. According to the latest chart (as of May 27th) announced by the American music media Billboard, IVE has made their debut on the 'Billboard Global 200' and 'Billboard Global Excl. U.S.' charts with their double title tracks.
'I AM' has secured the 50th and 27th positions on the 'Billboard Global 200' and 'Billboard Global Excl. U.S.' charts respectively, establishing a record of charting for six consecutive weeks. 'Kitsch' has continued its seventh week of activity, entering the 'Billboard Global 200' chart at 198th place, and has successfully charted for eight consecutive weeks at 106th place on the 'Billboard Global Excl. U.S.' chart.
IVE will be launching their global activities in earnest with the release of their first Japanese album 'WAVE' on the 31st.
