BTS V's Recommended Tune Tops Billboard's 'Hot Trending Songs' Chart: Power of Influence
A song recommended by BTS's V has scaled to the top of Billboard's 'Hot Trending Songs' chart, further attesting to his remarkable influence.
According to Billboard, Daniel Caesar's 'Vince Van Gogh' hit No. 1 on the 'Hot Trending Songs' chart. This real-time chart tracks trending songs, music, themes, and trends on Twitter, highlighting the most buzzworthy tracks.
'Vince Van Gogh' is a track from the album 'Never Enough,' released on April 7. A month after the album's launch, the song managed to snag the top spot on the 'Hot Trending Songs' chart.
Billboard News noted, "After V posted about it on Instagram on the 8th, the song gained intense attention, resulting in it climbing to the No. 1 spot on the chart. This showcases V's formidable influence."
The post by V, merely a one-second video, continues to hold the No. 1 position on the 'Hot Trending Songs' chart as of May 21, which has caused quite a stir. V has previously used another Daniel Caesar song, 'PLEASE DO NOT LEAN,' as background music for his vlog.
With over 59.07 million followers, V ranks first among male Korean celebrities on Instagram and has been recognized as the most influential male singer worldwide in the 'Top 1000 Influencers with the Most Impact' in the music category. This further underscores his influence.
V's 'Engage Rate'-a measure of active participation of followers in a post-stands at 22.6%, marking the highest globally, and speaks volumes about the high loyalty of his followers. His posts have been evaluated as the highest priced globally, and he's often said to be 'a promotion in himself,' attesting to his exceptional value. This phenomenon can perhaps be seen as a natural outcome given these factors.
V is known to recommend a diverse range of music to his fans. Artists who make it onto V's playlist enjoy global attention and significant popularity.
Conan Gray, an up-and-coming pop star from the U.S., saw a sharp increase in Instagram followers and gained mainstream recognition as a Gen Z star after being recommended by V. Filipino artist Paolo Sandejas' song 'Sorry,' which V introduced in his vlog, despite being released two years ago, climbed back up the charts in a miraculous resurgence, catapulting him to fame in the Philippines.
