Sung Hoon Files Lawsuit Against Malicious Rumor Spreader; Park Na-rae to Follow Suit
Actor Sung Hoon has submitted a lawsuit to the police station in response to the spread of malicious rumors.
As reported by OSEN on May 19, Sung Hoon's agency, Stallion Entertainment, officially requested an investigation on the 18th, filing a complaint against the perpetrator of the slanderous rumors under the Information and Communications Network Act (defamation).
Recently, rumors regarding Sung Hoon and Park Na-rae have been circulating on online communities. Some parts of the rumors included sexual harassment, which caused shock.
In response, Sung Hoon's side clarified on the 15th, stating, "We want to inform you that the rumors related to Sung Hoon currently spreading on certain online communities and social media are unequivocally false." They added, "Our company cannot overlook the situation that damages the honor of our actor and causes pain not only to the individual but also to their family. We plan to take strong legal action."
More importantly, the agency emphasized, "We are currently monitoring and tracking the IP addresses of those spreading these baseless rumors as if they were true. We will respond firmly without any leniency or agreement." They declared, "From this point forward, we will hold accountable anyone who posts and spreads any false facts online without verifying the truth, legally."
Sung Hoon's team has compiled evidence against the spreaders of the rumors and submitted a complaint on the 18th. Park Na-rae's agency is also preparing to file a lawsuit.
The agency confirmed that they are finalizing the gathering of evidence against those spreading malicious rumors about Park Na-rae and will submit a complaint as soon as the collation is complete.
