Song Hye-kyo and Han So-hee's Much Anticipated 'The Price of Confession' Casting Falls Through: Here's Why
Song Hye-kyo and Han So-hee, who were anticipated to take on the lead roles in the upcoming drama 'The Price of Confession,' will no longer be joining the project.
According to a News1 report on May 17, Song Hye-kyo and Han So-hee, who were considering starring in the drama 'The Price of Confession' (produced by Studio Dragon), have decided not to participate in the show after lengthy discussions. Director Shim Na-yeon, who was offered the directing role, has also decided not to join 'The Price of Confession.'
'The Cost of Confession' is a drama that revolves around the bloody saga of two women involved in a murder case. The casting of Song Hye-kyo and Han So-hee as the main actors had drawn significant attention.
This year, Song Hye-kyo challenged herself with a genre drama and character for the first time through the Netflix drama 'The Glory,' whose episodes were all released earlier this year. She successfully transformed her acting style and is now enjoying a new peak in her career. Similarly, Han So-hee has gained recognition for her star power and box office appeal after starring in dramas like 'The World of the Married,' 'Nevertheless,' and 'My Name.' 'The Price of Confession' drew anticipation as it would have seen these two actresses, who are both at the pinnacle of their careers, working together, and thus received considerable attention even before broadcasting.
Song Hye-kyo and Han So-hee had been considering appearing in 'The Price of Confession' after being offered the roles and had been positively reviewing the project. Both actresses have shown support for each other on social media and continue to maintain a good relationship. This had further fueled interest in their potential collaboration. However, after several discussions related to the drama, it was decided that Song Hye-kyo and Han So-hee would not participate due to minor disagreements with the production team.
Additionally, Director Shim Na-yeon, who received critical acclaim for her work on 'Monster,' had been in talks to direct 'The Price of Confession' but has also decided not to join.
Currently, 'The Price of Confession' faces the task of reorganizing its cast and crew after missing out on its initially rumored main actors and director. It remains to be seen how 'The Price of Confession' will shape up in the future, sparking curiosity among viewers.
