World's No.1 BTS Jimin's Anticipated 'Fast & Furious 10' OST Already Stirring Excitement
The 'Fast & Furious: Ride or Die' (hereafter 'Fast & Furious 10') OST, featuring BTS's Jimin, has already proven popular, sparking immense buzz.
On May 9th, distributor Universal Pictures surprised fans by releasing a trailer version of the main theme of 'Fast & Furious 10', 'Angel Pt.1', and a video. Jimin participated as a vocalist alongside American hip-hop artists Kodak Black, NLE Choppa, JVKE, and Money Long.
This news has thrilled fans worldwide, who are looking forward to the synergy between Jimin, the first Korean solo artist to top the Billboard 'Hot 100', and the globally popular blockbuster series. As a result, hashtags like '#Angel_Pt1', 'JIMIN IS COMING', 'JIMIN FOR FASTX SAGA', and 'JIMIN'S VOICE' have dominated real-time Twitter trends worldwide and in the United States.
Significantly, Jimin is the first Korean artist to directly participate in a 'Fast & Furious 10' OST. The release of the short trailer version alone has excited movie and K-pop fans, propelling the music video to third place in global trending, topping the iTunes Top Songs charts in 20 countries, achieving fourth place in the iTunes World Charts, and ninth place in European Charts, thereby continuing to garner huge responses.
The trailer version of 'Angel Pt.1' unusually garnered 826,283 (unfiltered) Spotify streams within a day of its release, ranking 43rd in the 2023 Spotify K-pop artist song debut rankings. Nine of Jimin's solo and collaborative songs, including the record-breaking 'Like Crazy' (7,998,768 streams) and 'Set Me Free Pt.2' (6,788,988 streams), occupy the Top 50.
Furthermore, Jimin topped the Korean Spotify Top Artists chart. American singer-songwriter and producer JVKE, who collaborated on this project, jumped an impressive 60 spots to rank 35th, experiencing the 'Jimin effect' in Korea. JVKE has repeatedly expressed his excitement about the collaboration on social media, NLE Choppa said, "It's an honor to collaborate with Jimin. A beautiful crossover", and Money Long also stimulated the heated atmosphere by posting emojis of the Korean and Brazilian flags and uploading a video using 'Like Crazy'.
Music publications like the American Billboard, the British NME, and other media outlets worldwide are scrambling to feature the news of Jimin's participation. The full version of 'Angel Pt.1' is set to be officially released on the 18th, and 'Fast & Furious 10' is scheduled for its first worldwide release in Korea on May 17th.
