AleXa Conquers America and Now Sets Foot in Japan: 'KCON JAPAN' Debut Performance
Singer AleXa, known as the 'Giant on Stage,' who won the American music competition, will meet Japanese audiences. AleXa will perform at 'KCON JAPAN 2023' held at Makuhari Messe in Tokyo, Japan, from May 12th to 14th. This will be her first appearance at 'KCON.'
AleXa has earned the nickname 'Giant on Stage' due to her highly acclaimed performances featuring detailed dance lines, powerful choreography, and expressive acting. She plans to captivate Japanese audiences with her charismatic stage presence at 'KCON JAPAN 2023.'
In May last year, AleXa won the NBC music competition program 'American Song Contest.' She impressed the contestants with her intense performances and singing ability, despite her small stature. She garnered praise while competing against 56 teams representing 50 US states, Washington DC, and five US territories.
Her competition song 'Wonderland' reached 38th on the Billboard Pop Airplay chart, making it the 6th most-listened-to song by a Korean artist on American radio. Thanks to the enthusiastic response in the US, she attended the 'Billboard Music Awards' in 2022, one of the three major American music awards.
'Wonderland' has also been well-received in Japan. Fans are looking forward to which songs AleXa will perform at 'KCON JAPAN 2023,' including 'Wonderland.' After winning the 'American Song Contest,' AleXa has been active globally, participating in fan meetings, Major League Baseball, and NBA halftime shows, and is expected to showcase an upgraded stage.
AleXa made her debut in October 2019 with the single 'Bomb.' She gained attention with her unique concept as the first K-pop artist to be an 'AI in the metaverse' and her outstanding skills. She has since released 'VILLAIN,' 'XTRA,' 'TATTO,' 'Back in Vogue,' and other songs, establishing the first metaverse worldview in K-pop and showing her unique charisma and explosive energy. In addition, her unit AleXa_H's 'Never Let You Go' showcased her versatility as an 'all-rounder' by delivering a ballad with delicate emotions.
Recently, AleXa signed with the American music label Intertwine Music and US management, led by Eshy Gazit, who has laid the groundwork for the success of BTS and MONSTA X's local management. This partnership will help her expand her global activities, including in the US.
With 'KCON JAPAN 2023' as a starting point, she plans to widen her sphere of activity to Japan. It is expected that AleXa will show more impressive performances in Japan with her differentiated concept, music, and unique performances that have made the hearts of A.I Troopers (fandom name) and K-pop fans around the world flutter.
