JYP's NiziU Announces Second Full Album 'COCONUT' Release and Arena Tour for Summer 2023
JYP Entertainment's girl group NiziU is set to release their second full album, 'COCONUT,' on July 19.
At midnight on May 10th, JYP announced the news of NiziU's upcoming album on their official SNS channel, revealing a group image of all nine members for the first time. In the photo, NiziU is surrounded by lush greenery, radiating bright energy with their smiles. 'COCONUT' will be their first full album since 'U,' released in November 2021, and will feature conceptual music and charm that embodies the summer season.
Along with the album release news, the title of their second solo tour was also officially announced. Starting in July, NiziU will visit seven cities in Japan for their 'NiziU Live with U 2023 'COCO! nut Fes.'' tour, meeting fans in person. The tour will include a total of 15 performances, starting with Saga Arena on July 1st and 2nd, and concluding in Hokkaido on September 2nd and 3rd.
Last summer, NiziU held their debut tour, 'NiziU Live with U 2022 'Light it Up,'' creating unforgettable memories with around 150,000 fans. Due to explosive demand, with tickets selling out within 10 minutes of general sales, they held their first dome concerts, 'NiziU Live with U 2022 'Burn it Up,'' in November and December 2022. With these concerts, NiziU broke the record for the shortest time for a female artist to hold a solo concert at a dome venue, just 1 year and 11 months after their debut.
In just one year, NiziU has attracted over 330,000 fans and expanded their influence as a "trendy girl group." Recently, they set a new record on Oricon. According to Oricon on May 10th, their pre-debut mini-album title track 'Make you happy,' released on June 30th, 2020, surpassed 300 million streams. NiziU became the first female group to achieve this milestone for a single track on Oricon. Furthermore, on May 10th, their first live Blu-ray, 'NiziU Live with U 2022 'Burn it Up' in TOKYO DOME,' capturing the dream stage of their Tokyo Dome concert, topped the Oricon daily Blu-ray ranking.
As NiziU continues to gain popularity, they are expected to make this summer even more colorful with their second large-scale arena tour and new full album release.
