EXO Kai Holds Last Fan Meeting Before Military Service, 'Shaving His Head, Looking Cool'
EXO's Kai held a heartfelt meeting with his fans ahead of his military enlistment. The free fan meeting took place on May 9 at 7 PM (KST) at Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, and was broadcast live through EXO's YouTube channel.
Kai captivated fans with diverse performances of his songs, including "Mmmh" and "Rover," and communicated with fans through various corners. He expressed his gratitude by reading messages written by fans to support him during his temporary absence due to military duty.
Kai told fans, "Thank you for making time for me, even though I suddenly held a fan meeting. I'll do my best and come back. There's no point in regretting, resenting, or being sad. I'll be back soon and show you my cool side while running like crazy. You're always on my mind." He expressed his love for his fans.
Kai continued, "I'll be studying and practicing hard, thinking about how I can appear in a cool way and what kind of stages I can show you during the slightly more than one year I'll be away. Please wait for me." He showed a relaxed expression, saying to fans, "You can do other things. As soon as our eyes meet, you'll fall for me again."
Kai will enter the army training center on the 11th. After completing basic military training, he will continue as a social service agent. According to his agency, SM Entertainment, EXO was preparing for a comeback this year, but Kai's sudden enlistment caused inevitable delays.
At the fan meeting, Kai assured fans, "I know it's sad not to see me, but there will be many better days ahead. I'll do my best until I'm buried in a coffin, so there's plenty of time left, and I'm not worried." He added, "I know fans watching online wanted to be here with me. Don't cry. I know, and I hope you'll wait for me." Kai ended by revealing he would shave his head the next day and share a picture with fans, saying, "I'll look cool. Don't worry."
Meanwhile, EXO leader Suho sent a heartwarming video message to support Kai. Suho said, "I wanted to make a surprise visit today, but I couldn't because of 'Mozart' practice. It's a shame." He added, "I hope the time you spend enlisted will be valuable, and I wish you good health." Suho expressed his love for Kai, saying, "EXO without you is unimaginable."
