NewJeans Breaks Guinness World Record for 'Fastest K-Pop Act to Reach 1 Billion Streams'
Girl group NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein) has been added to the Guinness World Records.
According to their agency Adore on the 9th, NewJeans has been recognized by the Guinness World Records as the fastest K-pop artist to achieve 1 billion cumulative streams on the world's largest music platform, Spotify.
As per the Guinness World Records, NewJeans reached 1 billion streams on Spotify just 219 days after their debut, on March 8th. The achievement was accomplished with their six songs: 'Attention,' 'Hype Boy,' 'Cookie,' 'Hurt,' 'OMG,' and 'Ditto.'
NewJeans' cumulative streaming count on Spotify has now surpassed 1.4 billion streams. This record includes streaming numbers from their advertising song 'Zero,' which was released last month on the 3rd.
