Heartbroken Jiae Speaks Out: 'Too Sad' Over Negative Views on LGBTQ+ Community
Former Wassup member Jiae (real name Kim Ji-ae, 28) expressed her distress over the negative perceptions of sexual minorities.
On the 7th, Ji-ae posted a screenshot of a comment on an article about Seoul City's decision to deny the use of Seoul Plaza for the Queer Culture Festival scheduled from June 30th to July 1st.
Ji-ae expressed her discontent when a netizen described same-sex love as a "mental disorder" and claimed that the Queer Culture Festival "destroys sexual identity": "I don't feel good. Why are there so many judgmental people?"
In response to another netizen who described homosexuality as "dirty, perverted, and grotesque," she said, "It's so, so sad." Ji-ae also shared a foreign news report on the issue, writing, "I'm extremely upset" and "There's nothing I can do."
In January 2021, Ji-ae previously confessed her bisexuality, saying, "I love both men and women. Can you understand?" and "I have a lovely girlfriend and I'm happy."
