Meet HIVE's Mysterious Artist MIDNATT: Unveiling the Single 'Masquerade'
HIVE has revealed on May 4 that the digital single title for the veiled artist MIDNATT is "Masquerade."
MIDNATT is the protagonist of 'Project L,' which gained attention when Bang Si-hyuk, Chairman of HIVE, mentioned it in an interview with American Billboard magazine. MIDNATT's identity will be unveiled alongside the song's release at 1 PM KST on May 15 (KST).
HIVE described MIDNATT's title track "Masquerade" as "a song that captures the inner conflicts and concerns of the artist."
The paradoxical metaphor embodied in the artist's name, MIDNATT, which means 'midnight' in Swedish, and the song title "Masquerade," which evokes a masquerade ball, raises curiosity about their connection.
The end of the day and the beginning of a new day, the character who paradoxically reveals themselves in the invisible darkness at the boundary of this fleeting moment, further stimulates the curiosity of music fans.
The atmosphere can be glimpsed in the 'Masquerade' concept film (MIDNATT 'Masquerade' Official Concept Film) posted on the official HIVE Labels YouTube channel today.
The video, set against a dense forest, features a hazy glitch effect, creating a dreamy and mysterious ambiance. HIVE explained that the video portrays "Sensitive Moments."
The phrase "Behind every mask, there is a face, and behind that a story. The hidden MIDNATT is to be unveiled soon" is added to the video, heightening expectations.
