Lee Min-ho Lands Lead Role in Upcoming Film 'Omniscient Reader'
Top star Lee Min-ho (36) is set to make his big screen return as the lead actor in the upcoming film 'Omniscient Reader.'
According to the film industry on the 3rd, Lee Min-ho has recently been offered a role in 'Omniscient Reader' and is currently in talks to finalize details.
The film is based on a popular web novel of the same name, which began serialization on Munpia in February 2018. It follows the story of protagonist Kim Dokja, who finds himself in a world that has transformed according to the novel he was reading, and his attempts to save the world.
In the movie, Lee Min-ho will play the role of Yoo Joong-hyuk, the main character of the novel that has altered the world. Rising actor Ahn Hyo-seop is being considered for the role of Kim Dokja, who fights alongside Yoo Joong-hyuk and his comrades.
The film's production will be handled by Realies Pictures, the company behind the blockbuster 'Along with the Gods,' and it will be directed by Kim Byung-woo of 'The Terror Live.' The film is currently in preparation, with plans to begin shooting by the end of this year.
Lee Min-ho's agency confirmed Today that he has received an offer to star in 'Omniscient Reader,' but stated, "It's one of the projects he's been offered, and nothing has been decided yet," maintaining a cautious stance.
Lee Min-ho, who has proven his global popularity and mature acting skills through Apple TV+'s Korean series 'Pachinko,' has also completed filming for 'Ask the Stars,' a big-budget project co-starring Gong Hyo-jin. His busy schedule, which includes lead roles in 'The Heirs,' 'Legend of the Blue Sea,' 'The King: Eternal Monarch,' and 'Pachinko,' is expected to continue as he remains a top global Hallyu star.
