S. Korean Ex-Ministry Employee Fined for Attempting to Sell BTS Jungkook's Hat
A former employee of the S. Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs was fined for attempting to sell a hat left behind by BTS member Jungkook (26) on a second-hand trading website.
According to the legal community on May 3 (KST), Judge Park So-jung of the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 2 issued a summary order of a 1 million won fine to the former Ministry of Foreign Affairs Passport Division employee who was charged with embezzlement on the 28th of last month.
In October last year, the employee posted an article on a second-hand trading website, claiming to sell the hat that Jungkook left behind when he visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to make a passport for 10 million won.
The employee introduced the hat as "an item that can't be bought even with money, as it was worn by BTS Jungkook" and attached their Ministry of Foreign Affairs employee ID to the post.
As the post became controversial, the employee deleted it and turned themselves in to the police. After receiving the case, the prosecution proceeded with a summary indictment with a fine of 1 million won following the review of the Prosecution Civil Committee.
