NewJeans 'Hype Boy' Surpasses 300 Million Streams on Spotify, Marking Their Third Hit
NewJeans' 'Hype Boy' has surpassed 300 million streams on the world's largest music platform, Spotify. This marks NewJeans' third song to reach 300 million streams, following 'Ditto' and 'OMG.'
According to Spotify on the 3rd, NewJeans (Minji, Hani, Daniel, Haerin, and Hyein)'s debut song 'Hype Boy' had been played 310,390,000 times as of May 1st (local time).
'Hype Boy' is a catchy track that combines Moombahton and Electro Pop genres. The song gained immense popularity with its addictive melody. It also set a record for the longest-charting song by a K-pop female artist on the US Billboard 'Global 200,' remaining on the chart for 37 consecutive weeks (from August 20th, 2022, to April 22nd, 2023).
In addition to 'Ditto,' 'OMG,' and 'Hype Boy,' NewJeans has placed a total of five songs in the hundred-million streaming ranks, including 'Attention' (200 million plays) and 'Cookie' (100 million plays), out of the seven tracks they've released.
