BLACKPINK Jennie Dazzles in Chanel Dress at Met Gala 2023, Shares Thoughts in Vogue Interview
Jennie, member of the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK, stunned onlookers in a vintage Chanel dress at the Met Gala 2023 and shared her thoughts in a witty interview with Vogue magazine.
On May 1, according to international media outlets such as The New York Times and Reuters, Jennie made an appearance at the Met Gala 2023, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan, New York.
This year's event, themed "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," paid homage to the late Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld, who passed away in 2019.
Jennie captivated attention on the red carpet in a black and white vintage Chanel dress, showcasing her remarkable fashion sense. Vogue revealed that the Chanel design team had specially reinterpreted a 1990s Lagerfeld collection piece for Jennie, who was also the last muse chosen by Lagerfeld during his lifetime.
Nicknamed "Human Chanel" for her compatibility with the brand, Jennie is currently serving as a Chanel House Ambassador.
When asked, "What do you think will happen when you enter the red carpet?" Jennie cleverly responded, "That's a really good question because I see people wearing these crazy dresses. I'm so curious to see how they sit down."
She continued, "I'm wearing Chanel from the '90s runway. I'm so lucky to have the Chanel team recreate this look."
The Met Gala, which began in 1948, is an annual event organized to raise funds for the operations of the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and to celebrate the opening of its yearly exhibition. Jennie is the second BLACKPINK member to attend the event, following Rosé's participation last year.
