Huh Chanmi Opens Up About Struggling with Depression After 'Devil's Editing' on 'Produce 101'
Singer Huh Chanmi has confessed to the hardships she faced after being a victim of the so-called "devil's editing" on an audition program.
On the upcoming episode of MBC's 'Tongue-Tied Mixed Martial Arts Sechiheo' (hereafter 'Sechiheo'), airing at 10 PM on May 2nd, Huh Chanmi shares her story from her not-so-smooth journey since debut.
Huh Chanmi spent ten years as an idol trainee, experienced two debuts, and participated in three survival programs, leading a colorful life in the music industry.
On the broadcast, she will reveal the behind-the-scenes story of 'Produce 101,' where she suffered mental trauma from the 'devil's editing.' Huh Chanmi confessed that due to the negative editing, she ranked first in real-time search queries for five weeks. Even more heartbreaking, her entire family watched the broadcast together. As a result of the incident, she fell into depression and lost her appetite.
Additionally, Huh Chanmi mentioned a shocking and unforgettable event. She recalled being approached by a strange man at a bus stop late at night during her high school days. The man asked, "Do you know who 00 is?" and continued to speak strangely, to which she remained unresponsive.
The mysterious man made an unknown hand gesture towards Huh Chanmi on the bus, and feeling uneasy, she reported him as soon as she arrived home.
Huh Chanmi said that the next day, police cars were parked at the school's sports field. A detective revealed the identity of the strange man, which shocked everyone present during the recording of 'Sechiheo.'
Huh Chanmi's honest confession can be seen on 'Sechiheo' airing at 10 PM on May 2nd.
