BTS V's 'Sweet Night' Becomes First K-OST to Surpass 300 Million Streams
BTS V's self-composed track 'Sweet Night' has become the first K-OST to surpass 300 million streams on Spotify.
As of April 26 (KST), V's 'Sweet Night' has exceeded 300 million streams on the world's largest music platform, Spotify.
#SweetNight300M reached the top spot in worldwide trends, while "TOP TIER ARTIST V" ranked third. Related keywords "Congratulations Taehyung," "TAEHYUNG TAEHYUNG," and "KIM TAEHYUNG" also trended simultaneously, placing V at the top of global buzz.
Even three years after its release, 'Sweet Night' continues to receive the love of worldwide listeners, breaking its own K-OST streaming records each year.
V was recognized for his songwriting, composing, producing, and singing talents on "Sweet Night," winning the "BEST OST Award" at the "APAN STAR AWARDS 2020." The track also claimed the top spot for "Most Streamed K-OST" in Spotify Wrapped for both 2020 and 2021.
In 2022, V's "Christmas Tree" became the most-streamed K-OST. This marks V's third consecutive year dominating the K-OST category.
V also recorded the highest follower growth among K-pop solo artists in 2022 and now holds the third-highest number of followers among K-pop solo artists.
U.S. TIME magazine praised "Sweet Night," saying the warm melody stands out with V's deep voice blending well with the sweet acoustic guitar tune, while Teen Vogue sent accolades stating that the song perfectly matches the drama, and V has left a significant mark on his musical work.
V's consistent musical prowess shown through his self-composed tracks, coupled with a loyal global fandom and widespread popularity, is fueling anticipation for his solo album with strong streaming power.
