NewJeans Achieves First 300 Million Spotify Streams for 4th Generation Girl Group with 'Ditto'
NewJeans has surpassed 300 million streams on Spotify with their song "Ditto."
According to Spotify on April 26 (KST), the single album "OMG" track "Ditto" by NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein) has been played 312,320,001 times as of the 24th (local time). It has been 126 days since the song was released on December 19th last year.
With this achievement, NewJeans has become the first 4th generation K-pop girl group to have a song with 300 million streams on Spotify.
"Ditto" is a song that NewJeans specially prepared for their first winter with their fan club, Bunnies. Upon its release, the song swept both domestic and international charts. At the time, only six months after their debut, they entered the US Billboard Hot 100 and UK Official Singles Top 100. They stayed on the two charts for five weeks and two weeks, respectively, with their highest rankings at 82nd and 95th.
On South Korea's largest music site Melon, the song maintained its number one position for a staggering 99 consecutive days (2022.12.19~2023.3.27). This is the longest period and highest number of times a song has ranked first since Melon's service began in November 2004.
NewJeans has so far placed five out of their seven released songs in the hundred-million streaming range on Spotify. In addition to "Ditto," "OMG," "Hype Boy," and "Attention" have recorded over 200 million plays, while "Cookie" has surpassed 100 million plays.
