Monsta X's Shownu Celebrates Discharge with Live Event: 'Only Hard Work Lies Ahead'
Monsta X's leader Shownu has returned with the same warmth and an even healthier appearance.
On April 24, Shownu held a live event titled "Captain Teddy Bear's Comeback: WELCOME BACK SHOWNU LIVE" through Monsta X's official YouTube channel, sharing time with Monbebes (official fan club name).
The live event was filled with various content for fans, including a Q&A session with fans, real-time comment interactions, watching memorable scenes from "SHOWNUayo" vlogs chosen by Monbebes, and completing piled-up challenges.
Shownu expressed his feelings, saying, "I'm quite nervous to start, but I wanted to see Monbebes quickly, and I decided to hold this live event to cheer everyone up on Monday." He also showed gratitude for the members and fans who seemed to have been doing well without him, hoping for everyone's happiness and health in the future.
Fans asked Shownu various questions due to their long wait, and Shownu answered them with delightful and sincere responses. Regarding whether he has watched Monsta X's content "Mon Mukedo Go," Shownu said, "I usually don't monitor much, but this content was really fun to watch. It seems to have captured the members' real personalities well. I have to start filming soon, and once the awkwardness fades, I think my natural self will show like before." This answer raised expectations for Shownu's upcoming activities through "Mon Mukedo Go."
Additionally, Shownu showed his love for fans, stating that he read books and all the letters from fans while serving in the military. He also mentioned that he looked at every single photo attached to the online letters sent by fans.
After spending a fulfilling and heartwarming Q&A session with fans, Shownu watched and commented on memorable scenes from his vlogs titled "SHOWNUayo," which were filmed before his military service and released during his hiatus. He then proceeded to the "Challenge Catch-Up" corner, where he performed challenges to the songs "LOVE" (original: Monsta X), "I AM" (original: IVE), and "Tiger Inside" (original: SuperM), captivating viewers with his smooth and charismatic dance moves.
During his closing remarks, Shownu expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to communicate with Monbebes immediately after his discharge and said, "Now, only hard work lies ahead, so I hope to see you all more often. Thank you to everyone who congratulated me on my discharge. I will show you an even better version of myself in the future."
Monbebes from all around the globe celebrated Shownu's return as the first discharged member and reliable leader of Monsta X. The live event attracted around 12,000 fans even before its start, creating a hot topic. Following the broadcast, hashtags like "#I_AM_Challenge," "#Shownu," "#Bear_Summoned_Successfully," and "#WELCOME_BACK_SHOWNU" trended on Twitter, with global Monbebes continuing to celebrate Shownu's comeback.
Discharged on the 21st, Shownu is expected to continue his activities in various forms after his military service.
