Fans Worldwide Rally Behind Billlie's Moon Sua Following the Sudden Loss of Her Brother, Astro's Moonbin
Global fans are rallying behind Billlie's Moon Sua, who has suddenly lost her brother, Astro's Moonbin. The story of Moon Sua's entertainment industry debut, supported by her brother's encouragement, has touched many hearts, and now fans want to protect and support her during this difficult time.
Astro's Moonbin's funeral procession took place on April 22 at 8 AM (KST). The funeral was held privately, and the burial site has not been disclosed, in accordance with the family's wishes.
Moonbin was found dead in his home in Gangnam, Seoul, at 8:10 PM on April 19. His manager discovered him and reported the incident to the police. The agency stated, "Astro's member Moonbin has suddenly left us and became a star in the sky."
Fantagio expressed their grief, saying, "We are even more heartbroken because we knew that he loved and thought about his fans more than anyone else." A funeral parlor was set up at Seoul Asan Hospital. Astro members Jinjin and Yoon Sanha were present with the family, Cha Eunwoo returned from the United States, and MJ, who is currently in military service, took emergency leave to attend the funeral.
Moonbin's younger sister and Billlie member, Moon Sua, also stayed at the funeral parlor. Billlie, which recently released 'The Billage of Perception: Chapter Three' and was promoting the title track 'EUNOIA,' canceled all scheduled activities for the week following the news of Moonbin's death.
Moonbin and Moon Sua were known as one of the entertainment industry's representative siblings, receiving much love and support as the "Moon siblings." Moonbin proudly conducted an interview and shared childhood photos when Moon Sua made her debut stage on MBC M's 'Show! Champion,' which he hosted. Moon Sua later took over as MC for 'Show! Champion' after her brother's departure.
Moonbin once shared on 'Housemate' that his wish for 2023 was for his sister to always be happy. Moon Sua has also mentioned that she considers her brother Moonbin a role model and often seeks his advice, showing the close bond between the siblings.
Moonbin and Moon Sua performed "Candy in My Ear" on 'Music Bank,' which gained much attention. The performance, released 9 months ago, has surpassed 8.77 million views on YouTube and continues to be loved. Moon Sua expressed her gratitude in an interview with OSEN, saying, "I'm grateful that many people still love that stage."
Moon Sua, who said farewell to her supportive brother, entertainment industry senior, and role model, has been staying at the funeral parlor to send him off on his last journey. Fans are worried about her, and they are raising their voices in support, hoping she can overcome her grief and continue her activities. Support from Korean fans and K-pop fans worldwide continues to pour in on Moon Sua's personal SNS, where she has not posted since October 2020.
