IVE's Jang Won-young Shares Emotional Reaction to Chart-Topping Debut, 'Overwhelmed with Emotions'
Jang Won-young spoke about IVE's feelings on reaching the top of the charts just one week after their debut.
On April 16, KBS 2TV's music talk show "The Seasons - Jay Park's Drive" featured an appearance by girl group IVE.
Jay Park introduced IVE as "the ones who have won both rookie awards and grand prizes," and IVE performed their song "Love Dive" live on the show.
Park praised the group, saying, "I thought it was really nice how they greeted each other during their performance of 'Love Dive,' even though they usually don't greet while on stage."
Continuing, Jang Won-young shared her experience of performing "Love Dive" with the band, saying, "It was an honor to work with such talented people, and it felt very different and fresh." Jeong Dong-hwan expressed his gratitude for being part of the special event, and An Yu-jin replied, "It's an honor for us as well."
An Yu-jin explained their unique ending pose, saying, "We've had many individual endings while performing on music shows, so we tried to match a group ending with a driving pose this time."
Jay Park asked about IVE's achievements, saying, "You reached number one just one week after your debut and won 30 trophies in just nine months? You had three consecutive hits. How did it feel when you first reached number one?" Jang Won-young responded, "I think the phrase 'overwhelmed with emotions' is accurate. I was speechless and filled with gratitude. We received it right after our debut."
An Yu-jin added, "I cried a lot," and when footage of the moment was shown, Park exclaimed, "I thought I was watching a scene from a drama." Jang Won-young expressed surprise, saying, "I didn't know I cried that much."
