Dawn Clarifies Rumors on Relationship with Ex HyunA, No Plans to Remove SNS Photos
Singer Dawn has personally addressed various rumors, including reconciling with his ex-girlfriend HyunA, following their breakup.
On April 14, the global K-POP brand 1theK YouTube channel released a video titled "HyunA & Dawn, Rekindling Love? They Were Already Booked | Dawn (DAWN)_To the Shining You (Dear My Light) | Personal Appearance."
In the video, Dawn discussed HyunA, stating, "We understand each other best in the world, so whatever choice we make, we support each other." He showed unwavering affection, saying, "I still do. I respected and supported her choice at that time. I supported her by clicking 'like.'"
Regarding a YouTuber who spread malicious false information about his relationship with HyunA after their breakup, he said, "I was really angry. Even though we broke up, I think I would do the same thing now if this situation happened." He added, "Whether I break up with HyunA or get back together, the important thing is not our current relationship status. I just love the person 'HyunA' herself. Even if we see each other with different people later, I think I will still love HyunA."
He cleared up misunderstandings about a past proposal to HyunA with a ring. "It wasn't actually a proposal with the intention of getting married," he said. "I just really liked her, so of course, I thought, 'If we get married later, I want to do it with her.' But at that time, I just wanted to give her a ring. It's common sense that 'giving a ring means getting married,' but I'm not a person with common sense," he laughed.
When asked about the numerous articles regarding marriage rumors, Dawn said, "I didn't clarify because I thought it was funny to say, 'We're not getting married?' since I had thought about getting married later."
Although the two have broken up, HyunA's photos are still on Dawn's SNS. He said, "I have no intention of removing the photos even after breaking up. They are just memories of the past, not bad memories." He added, "SNS is like a diary. I don't really want to erase it. HyunA said it's okay."
The couple was beloved as a representative star couple after admitting to their relationship in 2016. However, they officially broke up in November last year.
