YG Entertainment on BLACKPINK's Rosé Drug Rumors: 'Clear Fabrication'
BLACKPINK member Rosé has become the target of drug-use rumors originating from China.
On April 14, a representative from YG Entertainment told MyDaily, "We confirm that the rumors related to BLACKPINK's Rosé circulating on some online communities and social media are clearly false."
They added, "Our company is taking legal action against acts that infringe upon the human rights and tarnish the reputation of our affiliated artists. We are currently monitoring the creators and distributors of these rumors and will respond firmly without any leniency or agreement in the future."
Recently, rumors spread in China that Rosé had used drugs. The rumors started when the former creative director of a brand posted a picture of a home party with Rosé and friends. Some netizens pointed out a black and white ashtray on the table in the picture as evidence of Rosé's drug use, raising suspicion.
On April 12, local Chinese media reported on the drug-use suspicions involving Rosé. In response to the absurd fake news without any basis, YG Entertainment pulled out its sword and announced a firm response.
