BTS member Jimin's groundbreaking achievement of being the first Korean solo artist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 has captured the attention of global media outlets.

According to Billboard, Jimin's "Like Crazy" topped the main singles chart, the Hot 100, for the week of April 8. This marks the first and only time in the 65-year history of Billboard that a Korean solo artist has achieved this feat.

Billboard emphasized the historical significance of the accomplishment, stating that "Jimin made insane history this week on the Hot 100." "Like Crazy" is the 66th song out of 1,148 No. 1 tracks to reach the top spot in its debut week, a record achieved by fewer than 6% of songs.

CNN reported that while other BTS members have embarked on solo projects, none have achieved success quite like Jimin, who sold a combined total of 254,000 downloads and CD singles in the first week. The song also garnered 10 million streams and 64,000 radio listeners.

The Billboard Hot 100 chart calculates rankings by combining streaming data from U.S. music platforms, radio airplay, and sales data. Jimin's No. 1 position on the Hot 100 was achieved without any English-language collaborations with famous pop singers or radio promotion, making it a valuable accomplishment.

BBC highlighted the influence of Jimin's persistent and steadfast global fandom, while AFP focused on his album "FACE" reaching No. 2 on the main album chart, solidifying his position as the top Korean solo musician. Culture and entertainment magazine Vulture commented, "It might seem easy for Jimin to be No. 1 in the world's largest music market, but in reality, it's a massive, historic achievement." "Like Crazy" dethroned Miley Cyrus' "FLOWERS," which had been No. 1 for eight weeks, and set the highest sales record within a single week with five versions, surpassing the seven versions of Taylor Swift's "Anti-Hero."
