BTS Jimin Crowned as World's Most Mentioned Artist on Social Media: 'Jimin Reigns Supreme'

BTS member Jimin has climbed to the top of the global artist rankings for most social media mentions, earning the title 'Jimin Reigns Supreme.' According to the American social media analytics platform NetBase Quid, Jimin became the most-mentioned musician worldwide on social media in March.

On March 17, Jimin released his pre-release track "Set Me Free Pt2," which garnered explosive popularity and heightened anticipation for his first solo debut in a decade. Subsequently, on March 24, he released his solo album "FACE." His title track "Like Crazy" dethroned pop star Miley Cyrus and viral sensation Morgan Wallen, becoming the first Korean solo artist to top the Billboard main singles chart. The song has sparked a frenzy on various social media platforms.

Upon the album's release, "#Jimin_FACE" topped Twitter's worldwide trends, while "#LikeCrazy," "#JiminOnFallon," and "#JiminFACEDebut" swept ranks two through nine. 'JIMIN JIMIN' surpassed 5.14 million tweets. Notably, Jimin's performance of "Like Crazy" on NBC's "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and his exceptional variety show skills captured the attention of American audiences. As a result, Jimin's hashtags occupied eight of the top nine spots on Twitter's trends in the US.

Nicknamed the "Emperor of Trending" on Twitter, Jimin's excessive mention count has reached a point where he no longer appears on trending lists, being categorized with everyday topics like the weather. Consequently, a variety of alternative keywords with "#JIMIN" have taken over worldwide trends on a daily basis.

On another social media platform, Instagram, Jimin has held the top spot for most mentioned individual worldwide since 2019, with over 69.8 million mentions. Although he does not have a personal TikTok account, "#JIMIN" has surpassed 137.6 billion views, reflecting his widespread popularity.

Jimin's rise to the title of "Social Media Emperor" began in 2016 when he topped Time magazine's list of 'Most-Mentioned Singers on Twitter,' beating out Prince and Justin Bieber. His unwavering popularity continues to solidify his position on the throne years later.
