BTS' Jungkook Gears Up for Solo Album? Spotted with Bang Si-hyuk and US Producer
BTS member Jungkook has met with HYBE Chairman Bang Si-hyuk, AKA "Hitman" Bang, and a renowned American producer, sparking anticipation for a possible solo album release.
On April 10, Bang Si-hyuk posted a photo on the official SNS with the caption, "With #JK and @thisiswatt Thank you, @scooterbraun. You made this! " The shared image features Jungkook, Bang Si-hyuk, and Andrew Watt with their arms around each other. Last August, Jungkook departed for Los Angeles, California, via Incheon International Airport.
Andrew Watt is a prominent producer and singer-songwriter known for collaborating with international musicians such as Maroon 5, Post Malone, Sam Smith, Miley Cyrus, and Ozzy Osbourne. In February, he won two trophies at the 65th Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album and Best Metal Performance. The news of Jungkook and Bang Si-hyuk meeting with Watt has heightened fans' expectations for Jungkook's first official solo album release. Before Jungkook, BTS members have consecutively made their official solo debuts. Beginning with J-Hope, who released his first full-length album 'Jack In The Box' last July, Jin released the single 'The Astronaut' in October, RM launched the album 'Indigo' in December, and Jimin unveiled his first mini-album 'FACE' in March. Suga is set to release his first full-length album 'D-DAY' on April 21st, while V is also preparing for his solo debut.
In June last year, celebrating BTS' 9th anniversary, Jungkook released his self-composed solo track 'My You' for free via the group's official blog and SoundCloud. In the same month, Jungkook collaborated with American singer Charlie Puth on the single 'Left and Right,' which peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song remained on the Hot 100 chart for 15 consecutive weeks, solidifying its position as a global hit.
In addition, last August, Jungkook released the collaborative single 'Bad Decisions' with BTS members Jin, Jimin, V, benny blanco, and Snoop Dogg, entering the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 10. He also proved his strong presence at the 2022 FIFA World Cup hosted by Qatar. In November, Jungkook performed the official soundtrack 'Dreamers' for the 2022 Qatar World Cup, topping the iTunes 'Top Song' chart in 102 countries and regions. It also ranked high on the Melon TOP 100 chart in South Korea.
Jungkook didn't stop at singing, as he added prestigious titles to his achievements by performing the World Cup theme song alone at the opening ceremony held at Al Bayt Stadium in Qatar. He became the first K-pop singer to sing the World Cup theme song solo and the first Korean singer to perform at an overseas World Cup opening ceremony.
