KARA Reunites for Emotional 15th Anniversary Fan Meeting, Remembers Late Goo Hara: 'Our Youth'
The group KARA held their first domestic fan meeting in nine years, showcasing their affection for fans and the strong bond among the six members.
On the 8th, KARA's 15th-anniversary fan meeting "MOVE AGAIN" was held at the Daeyang Hall of Sejong University in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
KARA opened the fan meeting with "WHEN I MOVE," a song released last November to celebrate their 15th anniversary. Park Gyuri greeted the audience, saying, "We have finally arrived in Seoul for the finale after Osaka, Fukuoka, and Yokohama."
Despite the passage of time, Park Gyuri joked, "A few months have passed since we started our 15th-anniversary activities, and now we're in our 16th year." She also congratulated Kang Jiyoung, who joined KARA later, on her 15th anniversary with the group.
During the fan meeting, which was the first domestic event in about nine years since '2014 Camellia Day Fan Meeting,' KARA performed fan-favorite songs like 'Shout It Out,' 'STEP,' 'Oxygen,' 'Happy Hour,' and 'Mister,' heating up the atmosphere.
The members took time to read stories from fans. Some fans who grew up watching KARA as children shared their joy of being able to be with KARA after 16 years. Many new fans joined through the 15th-anniversary album 'WHEN I MOVE.' KARA agreed, saying, "We made a good comeback."
When fans requested to celebrate their 60th anniversary together, Park Gyuri joked, "Do we have to be together until we're 60? That's gross." Han Seungyeon replied, "It would be nice."
KARA prepared a special corner to fulfill fans' wishes, expressing their deep love for fans. Park Gyuri apologized, saying, "We had more fun than we should have during the fan wish segment," while Heo Youngji regretted not being able to fulfill more fans' wishes. The members promised to hold another event in the future.
Kang Jiyoung tearfully said, "Our 15th-anniversary activities were not a promise. We were able to achieve this because we all genuinely wanted it. What we wanted the most was to be together on stage, looking into each other's eyes."
Nicole shared her feelings, saying, "When we got back together, I saw comments like 'KARA was my youth.' It really hit me. We've all aged, but we're still together. Thank you for letting us be a part of your youth. I hope you know that you are also our youth."
In particular, KARA, who performed as a five-member group, repeatedly emphasized "KARA is six members" and expressed their longing for the late Goo Hara. Kang Jiyoung promised fans, "To be honest, we don't know when we'll get together again. But one thing is certain: we will reunite with our five members and our late sister."
Heo Youngji, who joined KARA late and is now in her 9th year since debut, said, "Fans and members thanked me for protecting KARA, but it's not something I could have done alone. Thank you all for protecting KARA together."
