Choi Jung-yoon Apologizes for Illegal Filming Controversy and Removes Social Media Post
Actress Choi Jung-yoon has apologized for the illegal filming controversy surrounding his movie and has removed the related social media post.
On April 5, a representative from Choi Jung-yoon's agency, Park Plus Entertainment, told Herald POP regarding the illegal filming controversy, "It was a mistake, and the actor himself realized the error and took down the post."
Earlier that day, Choi Jung-yoon had posted a scene from the movie 'Rebound' on his social media, which was criticized as illegal filming. Choi Jung-yoon uploaded a photo taken in the cinema along with a promotional caption, "It's crazy. I came out crying my eyes out. I also make a brief appearance. My son Kibum is awesome. 'Rebound,' a touching true story, is a must-see movie."
However, according to Article 104-6 of the Copyright Act (Prohibition of Recording of Cinematographic Works), it is illegal to film a movie being screened and post it on social media. Several celebrities have previously apologized for similar incidents after posting scenes from screenings.
Choi Jung-yoon seems to have made the mistake out of a desire to share his overwhelming emotions and promote the film. After receiving criticism from numerous netizens, he deleted the post and apologized, saying, "I'm sorry. I didn't know." He then added, "I think these emotions will last for a long time. My heart feels warm and moist after a long time. Let's go to the theaters to see the movie 'Rebound.'"
'Rebound' (directed by Jang Hang-jun) is a film based on the miraculous eight-day story of an underdog high school basketball team from Busan Central High School and their new coach, who defied expectations at the 2012 National High School Basketball Championship.
