BLACKPINK Jisoo Breaks Solo Album Sales Record for K-pop Female Solo Artists with 'ME'
According to YG Entertainment on the April 1st, BLACKPINK's Jisoo has set a new record for the highest single-album sales among K-pop female solo artists with her debut solo album 'ME'.
Released at 1 pm the previous day, 'ME' sold 876,249 copies in just one day, based on the Hanteo Chart.
The agency explained, "This record is the highest sales volume for a single album by a female solo artist in Korea."
The previous highest first-week sales record for a K-pop female solo artist was held by BLACKPINK's Lisa with 'LALISA', followed by Rosé's 'R'. With Jisoo claiming the top spot, all three top positions in this category are now held by BLACKPINK members' solo albums, showcasing their impressive achievements.
The title track "Flower" from 'ME' has so far topped the iTunes Top Songs charts in 60 countries, including the United States. The music video for "Flower" has also surpassed 41 million views on YouTube.
