TWICE Makes Comeback Date Announcement With 1st Teaser Of Mini Album 'READY TO BE'
K-Pop group TWICE made an announcement last year regarding their plans for both a pre-release single in English in January as well as an early 2023 comeback.
After releasing "MOONLIGHT SUNRISE", an English song, last month, the band is now officially getting ready for releasing their 12th mini album.
TWICE revealed the first teaser of "READY TO BE", their 12th mini album, on February 3 at midnight KST. The album is slated for a March 10 release at 2 PM KST.
Meanwhile, it has been a good start this year for TWICE. The band earned their second entry on the Hot 100 list by Billboard with "MOONLIGHT SUNRISE". The song made its debut at #84 on the list.
If that was not all, the group also made history recently by becoming the first Korean as well as the first Asian Female Group to win the 2023 Billboard Women in Music's Breakthrough Award. It is definitely a huge honor and an achievement for the South Korean girls' group.
According to the announcement by Billboard on their website on January 31 KST, TWICE will be handed over the award trophy at the official ceremony, which will be hosted in Los Angeles, California, at the YouTube Theater on March 1.
The Breakthrough Artist award is given to those who have risen to prominence in the music scene after taking on a challenge. JYP Entertainment, the management company of TWICE released an official statement saying that the band has demonstrated its global influence as a K-Pop act following in the footsteps of previous winners like Camila Cabello, Maren Morris, Tori Kelly, and Idina Menzel.
The Billboard Women in Music is a large-scale awards ceremony that honors the best female artists, producers, creators, and executives who have had the hugest impact on music over the course of a year. It has been hosted annually since 2007.
In 2022, the nine girl group comprising members Dahyun, Tzuyu, Chaeyoung, Jihyo, Sana, Momo, Jeongyeon, and Nayeon and Mina made it onto the list of USA's top 10 best-selling albums with its mini-album called "BETWEEN 1&2" that came out in August 2022.
Incidentally, the group was formed under the television program Sixteen and made its debut on October 20, 2015, with "The Story Begins", which was an extended play.
