BTS Nominated For 'Favorite Music Group' Fourth Time In A Row At The 2023 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards
Mega K-Pop band BTS has bagged a nomination in the category of "Favorite Music Group, where they will be competing against fellow Korean band BLACKPINK as well as international artists like Paramore, Panic! at the Disco, OneRepublic, Imagine Dragons, Black Eyed Peas, and 5 Seconds of Summer.
Meanwhile, BTS is now quite the veteran of the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, last year they set a record by winning two years in a row, a feat that was noted by the Guinness Book of World Records.
In 2022, the South Korean group bettered their win at the 2021 edition of the awards by winning the "Favorite Music Group" for the third time in a row, which the award ceremony's official Twitter account defined as smooth like "Butter", a clever play of words alluding to the group's chart-busting song.
With the win last year, the total number of trophies bagged by BTS at this award ceremony reached the count of six, surpassing not only BTS's own record but also that of American R&B and pop group Fifth Harmony.
The win last year also crowned BTS as the band with the highest number of trophies won by a band at the award ceremony.
Incidentally, " Favorite Music Group" is not the only category where the seven-member band has triumphed in the past few years. From 2018-2022, BTS bagged two awards in the "Favorite Global Music Star" category in 2018 and 2021 respectively, three awards in the category of "Favorite Music Group" for three consecutive years in a row from 2020-2022, and the category of "Favorite Song" with their super hit track "Dynamite" in 2021. If they go on to win this year, then the band will again set a new record.
The 2023 Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Award is right around the corner on March 4. The ceremony will be aired live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The show will be broadcast live across Nicktoons, TeenNick, Nickelodeon, TVLand, the Nick Jr. channel, CMT, and MTV2 at 7 PM ET.
This year the awards ceremony will be hosted by Nate Burleson of CBS Mornings and Charli D'Amelio.
The nominees for the "Favorite Female Artist" category include big names like Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Lizzo, Lady Gaga, Cardi B, Billie Eilish, Beyoncé, and Adele competing with each other.
The Weeknd, Post Malone, Kendrick Lamar, Justin Bieber, Harry Styles, Ed Sheeran, Drake, and Bad Bunny are the contenders in the "Favorite Male Artist" category.
