K-pop girls' band TWICE will be honored at the 2023 Billboard Women in Music Awards ceremony. The event will take place on March 1 at the YouTube Theater located in the Hollywood Park area of Los Angeles. Quinta Brunson, the Emmy Award-winning creator of "Abbott Elementary" will host the ceremony this year.

Billboard made the announcement of the return of the Billboard Women in Music Awards on January 30. The event celebrates the most influential female powerhouses at present who are shaping the music landscape. TWICE will receive the Breakthrough Award at this year's ceremony.

The nine-member group TWICE have made waves in the K-pop scene since debuting in 2015, however, it is even more noteworthy that this past year they have achieved even more accolades with agency JYP Entertainment.

The South-Korean band was the most streamed K-pop female group on US Spotify this year, with around 300 million streams in 2022 alone and more than 5.5 billion streams to date.

TWICE also bagged nominations from three prestigious music award ceremonies in 2022, including Best K-Pop at the MTV Europe Music Awards, Favorite K-Pop Artist at American Music Awards, and Best K-Pop at MTV Video Music Awards.

The group also sold out the seven US cities' show of their 4TH World Tour III, thereby becoming the first K-pop female group to sell out two arena shows in North America.

TWICE extended their tour with a special encore return, making them the first K-pop female band to perform at a North American stadium, with the show taking place at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles.

The band's eleventh Extended Playlist, "BETWEEN 1&2" got the #3 position on the Billboard 200 Album Chart earlier in January this year. Previously, this month, the band dropped "Moonlight Sunrise", their pre-release English single.

The other female artists who will be honored during the ceremony include Becky G, who will receive the Impact Award presented by American Express, Lana Del Rey will be bestowed with the Visionary Award, Lainey Wilson will get the Rulebreaker Award, Latto will be given the Powerhouse Award, Kim Petras will be honored with the Chartbreaker Award, Ivy Queen will be presented with the Icon Award, and the Rising Star Award will go to Doechii.

Hannah Karp, the Editorial Director of Billboard stated that they were thrilled to recognize these groundbreaking artists across generations and genres who are defining the sound of today and carving the path for tomorrow's women in music.
