BTS Officially Confirms Military Enlistment With Member Jin To Enrol First, Band Will Reconvene In 2025
BTS's management agency HYBE has confirmed that all seven members of the K-pop band, namely Jin, RM, V, Jungkook, J-Hope, SUGA, and Jimin will enlist for South Korea's mandatory military service.
In the official statement, HYBE announced that the eldest band member Jin will start his process as soon as October end, while the others will join as and when it is required.
The band's label Big Hit Music announced that currently, the BTS members are moving forward with plans to fulfill their military service. Moreover, it is the perfect time for the Bangtan Boys to enlist after the phenomenal concert that supported the South Korean city of Busan's bid for the World Expo 2030. Now that each individual member has embarked on solo solo endeavors, they are honored to serve.
The agency added that since the band's creation over ten years ago, it has broken records, risen to global success, and catapulted the K-Pop genre into the international stratosphere.
Big Hit stated that they focused on the landmark point when it would be possible to respect South Korea's needs and for these young healthy men to serve with the men of their country, and that moment is now.
The oldest of the band members, "Super Tuna" singer Jin will initiate the process at the end of October as soon as his schedule for his solo release is completed. He will then join via the enrollment process of the Korean government.
The other six band members plan to carry out their military service on the basis of their own individual plans. Big Hit Music mentioned that both they and the band look forward to reconvening as a band again around 2025 after everyone completes their service commitment.
The statement added that the release of BTS's first anthology album earlier in 2022 opened the way to allow the members to take some time to explore and foray into individual projects. Furthermore, HYBE will support and encourage their artists and are beyond proud that each artist will now have the time to discover their unique interests as well as do their duty to South Korea by being of service to their home country.
The announcement ended with the agency saying that the band's latest song "Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" is more than a track from their newest album, rather it is a promise that there is indeed much more yet to come in the years ahead the Bangtan Boys.
